Professor Dinan’s practice specializes in international trade law, intellectual property law and litigation. He advises both foreign and domestic clients in these areas. Professor Dinan practices before the trade agencies of the United States government, including the International Trade Commission, the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative. He also practices extensively before the United States federal courts and international arbitration panels. Professor Dinan was the Chair of the Export Controll Subcommittee, Section 337 Subcommittee, International Law Committee of American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is an officer of the U.S. International Trade Commission Historical Society. He formerly served on the District of Columbia Mayor’s International Trade Commission, the D.C. Regulatory Reform Commission and the D.C. Stadium Commission. He is General Counsel for the D.S. Democratic State Committee. Professor Dinan has spoken widely on matters of international trade and has presented numerous papers to various bar associations and conferences. Prior to entering private practice, he was the Director of the Unfair Import Investigations Division at the U.S. International Trade Commission.
