Biography

LL.B., Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica, San José, Costa Rica; LL.M. (Common Law), S.J.D., Georgetown. Professor Umaña is a Trade and Integration Specialist for the Inter-American Development Bank where he concentrates on the design of loans and technical cooperations for countries in Latin America. Prior to joining the Inter-American Development Bank he worked as an International Consultant for the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development and as an International Consultant for INCAE, the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development. While attending Georgetown University Law Center, Professor Umaña was a fellow for the Law Center's International Economic Law Institute.
