Biography

Professor Wales is perhaps best known to students for his performances with the Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Off-stage, he teaches Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Law and Psychiatry, and Law and Social Science at the Law Center. Before joining the faculty, he was an associate professor at the University of Mississippi. He also has been a visiting professor at the University of Colorado, the University of Texas Law Schools, and the University of Heidelberg. His recent writings focus on the role of the criminal jury and proposals for its reform. He has also been active on committees of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychology-Law Society relating to the presentation of expert psychological information in the courts.
