Hiring Info for 3Ls

• The office is highly selective in hiring graduating 3L’s and will make offers only to extraordinary applicant. Employment cannot begin prior to the applicant sitting for the Arizona Bar Exam.  At that time the applicant begins as an attorney intern until they are licensed.
• Failing the bar exam may result in termination- all employment is at will.
• Graduates who have a minimum of 2 years licensed practice in criminal defense may be eligible for immediate hire under an exemption to bar requirements for a two year period. By the end of the two year period the applicant must be licensed. The special admission terminates at the end of two years, admission, or failing the bar examination.

Hiring Info for Summer Internships for 1Ls and 2Ls

•  The office hires 1L and 2L students who are Federal Work-Study eligible. The pay rate is $15 per hour.
• Procedure for Application:
• Send a Resume.
• Submit both an electronic and original signed county application.
• An application can be found here.
• When filling in the on-line application, please make sure you select the “click here to apply online” for job number 11496.
• When you have finished completing that application print a copy for yourself and submit a completed copy via the online submittal.
• For your application to be considered complete, they must receive an original copy with your signature as well as the remainder of the materials.
• Submit 5 references.
• Submit a writing sample of no more than 10 pages in length.
• Submit a cover letter expressing why you are interested in working for their firm.
• Submit a copy of your law school transcripts.
• Submit a written response to two factual scenarios.
• Dates: Apply between November 15 and February 15th.
