Public Defenders ruler

When you're evaluating Public Defender offices, you might ask the following questions:

  • Is the office mission driven? Do the attorneys have the minds and hearts of defenders, i.e. are they client centered people who are respectful of the circumstances and wishes of those they represent?
  • Is it a career office? If people have stayed there for a long time it’s usually a good sign- one that shows stability and that there is a sense of community.
  • How is the morale? Are more senior lawyers willing to make friends with and build community with incoming lawyers?
  • Are there good training programs?

Keeping these criteria in mind here are some of the offices that we have identified that you could apply to.
