We created this online resource to try to smooth the way to an education law and policy career by sharing some of the lessons students have learned over the years.  We encourage you to peruse the web site to familiarize yourself with the variety of education-related organizations that exist -- many in the DC area.  We also hope to help build a network of like-minded advocates that includes current Georgetown students, alum, and community members.  (Also be sure to check out our blog here.) 

This site divides career options by sector: firms, non-profit organizations, and the government.  On each sector’s page you will find a list of organizations that offer semester and summer internships for law students.  Some pages also include video interviews with Georgetown alum who have worked or are currently working at that particular organization.   
The National School Board Association has created several helpful resources that may help you determine whether a career in school law is right for you. The ABA compiled Profiles of Education Lawyers (check out Neena Chaudhry and Robert Potts) and additional profiles are available at www.Superlawyers.com by searching under the “School and Education” category.  Harvard’s Office of Public Interest Advising has also created a comprehensive guide to child advocacy careers.  The article here explains that education lawyers are in demand.  For one Georgetown student's perspective on the process of launching an education law career check out the essay here.
