Jennifer Goldberg is Directing Attorney of the Justice in Aging Health Team, and is based in their D.C. office. She develops and implements projects and initiatives that improve access to health care and long term services and supports for low-income older adults across the country. Prior to joining Justice in Aging in 2015, she served as the Director of Advocacy for Elder Law and Health Care at Maryland Legal Aid, leading their practice for clients age 60 and over and supporting advocates statewide. Professor Goldberg spent fourteen years in legal services at Maryland Legal Aid, where she represented low-income clients in a wide range of civil matters, including Medicaid, home and community based services, nursing home, assisted living, Medicare, Social Security and SSI cases.

Professor Goldberg was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to the Board of Trustees for the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange and served as a member of the Board from 2011 – 2015. Through this work, she developed her expertise in the Affordable Care Act’s impact on low-income and vulnerable populations. She is a past Chair for the Maryland State Bar Association Elder Law and Disability Rights Section.

Prior to her work at Maryland Legal Aid, Professor Goldberg was a Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow and a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Domestic Violence Clinic at Georgetown University Law Center. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mark L. Wolf of the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts.

Professor Goldberg earned a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and a LL.M. in advocacy from Georgetown University Law Center. Professor Goldberg received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges.
