Professor Green is the Branch Chief in the Internal Revenue Service's Office of Chief Counsel (TEGE), Qualified Plans Branch 1, where he is responsible for qualified plan regulations and other guidance, management of Branch guidance and technical assistance projects, and providing technical expertise in appellate litigation involving ERISA plans. As Branch Chief, Professor Green also provides technical assistance to the IRS-Employee Plans Division and he acts as a liaison on retirement plan matters with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and the Department of Labor. Prior to joining the IRS in 2006, Professor Green was a partner in the Employee Benefits Practice Group in the D.C. office of McDermott Will & Emery where he focused on qualified and nonqualified retirement plan matters for corporate clients.
