Since 2007, Professor Hecht has been the CEO of Living Cities, a collaborative of 22 leading foundations and financial institutions who pool their capital to innovate, invest and lead change in America's cities. In 2000, he co-founded One Economy, a global nonprofit organization that uses innovative approaches to deliver the power of technology and information to low-income people, giving them valuable tools for building better lives. Prior to One Economy, Professor Hecht was Senior Vice President for Program Services at the Enterprise Foundation, a national housing and community development organization. He has worked as a staff accountant at Coopers & Lybrand and as an attorney at Boasberg & Norton. Professor Hecht previously managed GULC's housing and community development clinical program. He is the author of ), Developing Affordable Housing: A Practical Guide for Nonprofit Organizations (John Wiley & Sons, 1994) and co-author of Managing Nonprofits.org (John Wiley & Sons, 2001 and Managing Affordable Housing: A Practical Guide for Creating Stable Communities (John Wiley & Sons, 1996).
