Professor Keith is a principal at Keith Policy Solutions, LLC, a boutique consulting firm where she advises nonprofit and foundation clients on ways to secure state and federal health care priorities and conducts original legal, policy, and qualitative analysis to support policy goals. Her work includes an emphasis on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on underserved populations, such as the LGBT community. Professor Keith also maintains a part-time appointment at Georgetown University's Center on Health Insurance Reforms and provides "Following the ACA" rapid response analysis for the Health Affairs Blog.

She is a co-founder and steering committee member of Out2Enroll, a national initiative to connect LGBT people with new coverage options under the Affordable Care Act, and an appointed consumer representative to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners where she represents the interests of consumers in front of state insurance regulators from all 50 states and DC. Professor Keith is also a Scholar with the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law.

Previously, Professor Keith was a research professor at Georgetown University's Center on Health Insurance Reforms where she specialized in state and federal implementation of the Affordable Care Act. She wrote widely on topics that include the health insurance marketplaces, enforcement, and nondiscrimination, and her research and analysis has been featured in state and national media outlets across the country. She has spoken at forums that include the American Bar Association, the American Public Health Association, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the White House.

Prior to joining the Georgetown faculty, Keith served as a health policy intern to Senator John D. Rockefeller (D-WV), an editor for Global Health Governance, a research assistant to faculty of the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, and a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana in West Africa. Professor Keith received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and holds a Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
