David R. Kuney

B.A. with high honors, J.D., University of Virginia. Professor Kuney is a partner with the law firm of Sidley & Austin specializing in corporate and real estate bankruptcy and major civil litigation. He has focused on federal bankruptcy law for the past 30 years, with a particular emphasis on real estate entities and business bankruptcies. He has appeared in numerous bankruptcy cases throughout the United States for both creditors and debtors, has been lead counsel in many of the leading cases that have established precedents of major importance, and has authored amicus curiae briefs filed with the U.S. Supreme Court. Professor Kuney also has an active trial practice and has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials, as well as judge trials in complex business litigation.
