B.A. with honors, Haverford College; J.D. with honors, University of Chicago. Professor Margie is a partner with the law firm of Wiltshire & Grannis, LLP. Formerly, he was the Senior Director for Technology Partnerships at the United Nations Foundation, where he directed a partnership between the foundation and Vodafone to use technology to advance humanitarian and development missions. Prior to his work with the United Nations Foundation, he was Legal Advisor to FCC Commissioner Michael J. Copps from 2001-2005, Legislative Counsel then Senior Commerce Counsel to Senator John D. Rockefeller IV from 1998-2001, and an attorney with Wiley, Rein & Fielding from 1996-1998. He is also the US Representative of Telecoms sans Frontieres and on the board of the non-profit DataDyne.org. Professor Margie has taught technology courses at the Georgetown Law Center for ten years. Professor Margie has written articles on telecommunications, Internet, and election law. He was editor-in-chief of The University of Chicago Legal Forum, where he oversaw the publication of a book-length compilation of articles titled The Law of Cyberspace.
