Diane Millman is currently a partner at the law firm of Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville, a Washington DC boutique firm specializing in health care, disability, and education law. She formerly served as a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery’s Washington, DC office. Professor Millman’s practice encompasses the full range of transactional, regulatory and legislative services affecting health care providers. She represents hospitals, physicians, ambulatory care providers, professional associations, medical equipment manufacturers, and others before the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services and other federal agencies as well as before Congress. The substantive areas of her practice include Medicare and Medicaid payment, fraud and abuse, physician self-referral, and other issues arising under federal law. She also counsels clients with respect to state law regulation, including state self-referral, fee-splitting, corporate practice of medicine and similar issues, and she represents clients regarding various contractual negotiations, including joint ventures, practice acquisitions and provider networking arrangements.
Professor Millman graduated from Franklin and Marshall College (B.A. Government) in 1977 and Harvard Law School (JD) in 1980. She is included in Best Lawyers in America, 2005-2012 editions.
