Kevin represents clients in disputes before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Internal Revenue Service Appeals and Examination Divisions, and the Internal Revenue Service National Office. Kevin has had significant tax controversy experience involving such matters as the treatment of credit card fees and other OID, credit card rewards programs, estate tax, change in method of accounting issues, so-called “LILO” and “SILO” transactions, and numerous other tax advantaged transactions. From 2002 to 2004, Kevin clerked for the Honorable Robert P. Ruwe of the U.S. Tax Court. Before becoming a tax lawyer, Kevin practiced general commercial litigation for five years with a small, boutique law firm in Miami, Florida. Kevin is a frequent writer and lecturer on tax controversy and litigation issues. He is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Florida.
