Honorary President, International Court of Arbitration of the ICC, Paris 

Professor Tercier acted as President of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC from 2006 to 2008. He was Emeritus Professor of Law (Private Law, Commercial Law, Arbitration) at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland from 1973 to 2008. He also taught at the University of Geneva and the EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland), in Paris I, Paris II, Paris IV (France) and in Torino (Italy). Professor Terrier was a Member, and then Chariman, of the Swiss Antitrust Commission and the new Swiss Commission on Competition from 1989 to 1998. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the topics of Contract Law, Torts, Construction Law, Antitrust Law, and Dispute resolution. Professor Tercier has extensive history in international and domestic arbitration, with over one hundred proceedings (ad hoc, ICC, ICSID, CCIG, UNCITRAL, LCIA, SCC, ZCC). He completed his post-graduate studies in Hamburg (Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht, Germany) and at the University of Cambridge, and received a Doctor in Law and Law Practice degree from the University of Firbourg, Switzerland, summa cum laude.
