Jack Thorlin is a Senior Counsel on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he served first under Rep. Jason Chaffetz and, now, Rep. Trey Gowdy. He conducts investigations and develops legislation primarily relating to federal ethics programs, security clearances, and cost-benefit analysis. He previously worked at the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, first under Sen. John McCain and then Sen. Rob Portman. While at PSI, he oversaw investigations into, among other things, online advertising practices, corporate tax avoidance, and defense programs. Professor Thorlin holds a B.A. in Engineering Sciences, cum laude in field, from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
