Mairée Uran Bidegain is a legal counsel with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), an organization of the World Bank Group and the leading institution for the resolution of investment disputes through conciliation and arbitration proceedings. In this capacity, she serves as Secretary of tribunals, commission and ad hoc committees in arbitration, conciliation and annulment proceedings brought under the ICSID Convention and acts as legal counsel on institutional matters. Prior to joining ICSID, Ms. Uran Bidegain worked in the field of investment arbitration with the law firm of White & Case LLP, where she advised sovereign states and private parties on international dispute resolution relating to foreign investment as well as on cross-border negotiations and international transactions. She holds a law degree from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), a Master's degree from Université Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris I), and an LL.M from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York. Prof. Uran Bidegain has been a guest speaker at numerous conferences and seminars including the International Academy for Arbitration Law (Paris), the Canadian Council on International law (Ottawa), ICDR’s 10th Annual Miami International Conference (Miami), the 12th IFCAI Biennial International Conference (Caracas), and the Università of Roma Tre (Roma). She also lectured as adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law.
