Steve Varholik is an attorney with the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Comission. Prior to joining the Commission, Steve was in private practice in the Washington, D.C. office of Garvey Schubert Barer. While at Garvey Schubert Barer, Steve advised clients on a variety of securities regulatory matters, and defended clients in customer initiated securities arbitrations, enforcement proceedings and investigations initiated by the Commission, FINRA (f/k/a NASD), NYSE, other self-regulatory organizations and state securities regulators. Prior to joining Garvey Schubert Barer, Steve was an associate with a with a boutique law firm in San Francisco, where he defended large broker-dealers, underwriters and investment companies in litigation and customer initiated securities arbitrations.
