Professor Williams is a member of Ernst & Young LLP's National Tax Mergers and Acquisitions Group. She previously was an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and Assistant Branch Chief of the Office of the Assistant Chief Counsel (Corporate) at the Internal Revenue Service. While at the Treasury and IRS, she worked on numerous guidance projects involving corporate reorganizations, spin-offs and consolidated return issues. Professor Williams is also a member of the ABA Corporate Tax Committee and served as the Chair from 2008-2009. She frequently speaks on a variety of corporate topics at various seminars throughout the country and is Co-Chair of the ALI-ABA Corporate Tax Program.
