Life After Georgetown Law / Advanced Exit Interviews ruler

Graduation is Just the Beginning!

Law School graduates are confronted with a wide variety of financial issues that may be new to them. When combined with the fast-paced environment in the legal world, some things tend to get missed. The Law Center and the Financial Aid Office want you to succeed personally, professionally, as well as financially. With this in mind, we have created:

Life After Georgetown Law
A Financial Planning Expedition

This interactive session is an advanced follow-up to the federal Exit Interview that must be completed previously either online or in-person. You will utilize some of the Internet’s best resources to map out your future and will receive a Life After Georgetown Law Financial Planning Workbook to use and take home. At this session you will use your information and goals to create a plan that works for you. We will show you your options, not tell you what to do, and of course, we’re not selling a thing.

Each attendee will use a computer therefore seating is limited. Unlike the Exit Interview, your attendance is not required, but is strongly encouraged. Only students that are interested in developing plans for a sound financial future should register. This interactive session will cover topics such as:

  • Debt Management
  • Insurance
  • Home Purchase
  • Employment Benefits
  • Retirement
  • Family

We think that Georgetown Law students can benefit from this program, but don’t take our word for it. The following quotes come from session evaluations from prior years’ programs:

"Thank you so much for developing these sessions - this is very helpful & makes me really feel much more proactive in my financial planning!"

"Make this required for graduation."

"The worksheets are very useful. The whole session was great b/c I really needed help on this stuff."

And financial aid officers at other schools have said:

"I am amazed that they have committed the time to help their students this much!"

"This was a fantastic session. It had hands on, real life information and examples."

Registrants will receive Life After Georgetown Law Financial Planning Prep sheets to complete prior to their session.

Be sure to download and complete the Financial Planning Prep Sheets before attending your session!

NOTE:  If you experience any difficulties in using the REGISTER links, please send an email to finaid2@law.georgetown.edu with your NAME, the DATE, and TIME of the exit session you'd like to attend.
