Foundations of American Law and Legal Education Program:  July 11 - August 7, 2010 ruler

Foundations of American Law and Legal Education (Foundations) prepares international law students for their graduate legal education in the U.S. Taught in the weeks prior to the beginning of the academic year, it is an in-depth introduction to American law and legal heritage. The faculty member, from Georgetown and other prominent law schools, are experienced in teaching foreign lawyers.

An essential component of Foundations is the opportunity to attend court and observe judicial proceedings. We also invite representatives of Washington, D.C.'s legal community to meet our students through a program of special speakers.

Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the program.

NOTE:  Enrollment in Foundations is available only to Georgetown LL.M. students and those students sponsored by the Fulbright Program.  All students offered admission to the Georgetown LL.M. Program automatically receive Foundations enrollment information.
