RESULTS
2006-2007 FINAL RESULTS
This year's Law Firm Challenge ended with impressive results. The 2007 Challenge included 43 firms with over 1,800 alumni participants, which was an increase from 38 firms and 1,400 participants last year. The total number of donors climbed to 890, up from 741 from last year. Overall, 49% of the alumni in the Law Firm Challenge firms made a gift to the law center. $822,472 was contributed to the Law Center with over $490,000 designated to the Law Annual Fund, which was a gain from last year's totals of $807,676 and $428,031 respectively.
The 2007 Challenge produced several other notable accomplishments. Five firms achieved 100% participation: Group 1:Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and Dewey Ballantine LLP (now Dewey LeBoeuf); Group 2: Howrey LLP; and Group 3: DLA Piper US LLP and VenableLLP. This was Venable's fifth consecutive year of achieving 100% participation and the third straight year for Debevoise & Plimpton. In terms of dollars raises, Keller and Heckman LLP, Howrey LLP, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP contributed the highest totals in their groups. This marked Howrey's second year at the top of this category in Group 2.
A friendly competition led by firm-based volunteers, the Law Firm Challenge educates law alumni about the importance of giving back to the Law Center. Participating firms enjoy greater visibility among Georgetown Law students and "bragging rights" for the year.
The firms that competed in the 2006-2007 Law Firm Challenge were divided in to three groups. Group 1 was comprised of firms with 25 or fewer Georgetown Law alumni, Group 2 consisted of firms with 26-40 Georgetown Law alumni and Group 3 firms had more than 41 alumni.
Thank you to all the participants and volunteers of the 2007 Law Firm Challenge!
