GIFT CLUBS ruler

Leadership gifts provide Georgetown Law with a solid foundation of financial support that provides the Dean with the critical resources necessary to address immediate needs at the Law Center.  On a consistent, annual basis, these generous alumni and friends demonstrate a commitment to solidifying Georgetown’s role as a global leader in legal education.

Georgetown’s Blue and Gray Society recognizes donors who make gifts totaling $10,000 or more to Georgetown University each year, including gifts to the Law Center.  Blue & Gray contributions are critical to the University, supporting educational essentials such as scholarships, research programs, curriculum development, classroom technology, libraries, athletics, campus ministry, journals, clinics, student organizations, and facilities.  Membership in the Blue & Gray Society may be renewed annually.  Benefits of membership include:

  • Invitations to lectures and seminars
  • Regional meetings, receptions, dinners, and luncheons with University leaders
  • Periodic updates from the University President John J. DeGioia, Ph.D., and key academic leaders

An Inspiration

Frank Hogan (1877-1944) graduated from the Law Center at the top of his class in 1902.  During his career, he founded the firm of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P., achieved a national reputation for his litigation skills, became known as a crusader for the protection of personal rights, and was elected president of the American Bar Association.  In addition to his passion for the law, Hogan was a dedicated advocate of the Law Center.  He returned to campus to teach, contributed to the Law Center Library collection, and served as president of the Georgetown University Alumni Association.  His vision, dedication, and mastery of the law have inspired generations of law students and lawyers alike.

Membership in the Hogan Society is extended to alumni, parents, and friends who make gifts to Georgetown University Law Center totaling $5,000 or more each year.  This support is the lifeblood of the school and provides the Dean with critical resources to address immediate needs.  Hogan Society members consistently demonstrate a heightened commitment to legal education and a belief in the mission of the Law Center.

Ultimately, Hogan Society membership will give you the satisfaction of knowing that your support is shaping the Law Center’s future.  Membership is renewable on an annual basis, and corporate and firm matching gifts count toward membership.

As a Hogan Society member, you will maintain a close connection to the Law Center with:

  • An invitation to an annual reception honoring Hogan Society members
  • Invitations to regional receptions, dinners, and luncheons with Law Center leadership

Joining the Presidential Counselors is an excellent way to deepen your connection to Georgetown’s academic mission.  Your gift of $1,000 or more each year makes you a member.  If you are a young alumnus, you can join the Presidential Counselor Associates by giving $250 or more each year within five years of graduation, or $500 or more each year within 10 years of graduation.

As a Presidential Counselor or Presidential Counselor Associate, you will have a close connection to Georgetown and network of committed alumni, parents, and friends through the following benefits:

  • Invitations to regional meetings, dinners, luncheons, and receptions with University and Law Center leadership
  • Opportunity to attend faculty lectures and seminars

Alumni, faculty, and friends who have recognized Georgetown Law in their estate plans or made other planned giving arrangements with the Law Center are recognized through Georgetown’s Law Legacy Society.  The Legacy Society is our way of saying thank you to our legacy donors who have made a direct and substantial impact on the Law Center now and in the future.  Members of the Law Legacy Society are recognized in selected publications.
