Numerous alumni and friends make legacy gifts to Georgetown Law and, in doing so, become partners with the Law Center while planning for their own future. Their generosity honors loved ones, celebrates fond memories, or reflects a life’s work. The gift plans they use to create these legacies are tax-wise tools that yield significant immediate and long-term benefits. Charitable gifts come in many shapes and sizes. Creative gift plans may include Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Gift Annuities, Pooled Income Funds, and Charitable Lead Trusts. You can fund your gift plan with a variety of assets, including retirement plan assets, cash, real estate, retained life estates, securities, and life insurance. Bequests are also an excellent way to leave a legacy with the Law Center. Establishing a gift for Georgetown Law can be a significant part of planning your estate and we encourage you to consult your attorney or financial advisor concerning your options. The Office of Development can provide more information on legacy giving and work with you and your advisors on creating a plan that best fits your financial situation and philanthropic goals.
