In addition to the weekly luncheon speaker series and weekly research workshops that IIEL sponsors for the IIEL Fellows, the IIEL also has organized several conferences, lectures and symposia to contribute to public discourse on international economic law. These events have often been organized in collaboration with other institutions. Such programs have included:
- An Annual WTO Conference in London, which the IIEL has jointly organized with the British Institute of International & Comparative Law (BIICL) and the Journal of International Economic Law. The first WTO Conference was held in May 2001, and annually thereafter in May of each year. Information on the annual WTO Conference and programs from past years are available on the BIICL website.
- An annual Academy of WTO Law and Policy, which is a week-long intensive professional development program on the law and policy of the World Trade Organization. The next Academy is scheduled for November 16-20, 2009.
- April 23, 2009: "Trade and the Economic Agenda: Serving America's Families and the Global Recovery" - remarks by Ambassador Ron Kirk, U.S. Trade Representative, at Georgetown Law Forum.
- October 22, 2008: Climate Change and Trade Agreements, IIEL dinner forum, co-sponsored by the Peterson Institute for International Economics
- September 8, 2008: Recent Developments in the European Union and the Implications of Ireland's "No" Vote on the Treaty of Lisbon, an IIEL round table discussion

- November 16, 2007: Round Table Discussion on International Economic Regulatory Activity: A Look at the Legal Landscape, co-chaired by Professors John H. Jackson and Donald C. Langevoort

- October 22, 2007: “Surveillance: The Rising Agenda of the WTO”, an address by WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy to the Georgetown Law community
