| The
Institute
of International Economic Law (IIEL)
was created in August 1999 at Georgetown
Law. The Director is Professor
John H. Jackson and the Deputy Director is A.
Jane Bradley. Its mission is to encourage thoughtful
and scholarly attention to subjects that concern
the relation of law to cross-border economic
activity. The Institute emphasizes research
of fundamental, long-term, systemic problems
and possible solutions. Its work provides important
critiques of policies, negotiations, court and
tribunal cases. Through its location at Georgetown Law,
the Institute benefits from a large number of
well-known faculty scholars who participate
in IIEL activities and an outstanding library
collection on international economic law.
