Introduction
The Institute of International Economic
Law (IIEL) does not itself normally conduct courses or training,
because the Georgetown University Law Center has an enormous
program of education and training. However, part of the
Institute's objective is to foster and encourage such activity
regarding the subject of International Economic Law. In
that connection, the Institute has been instrumental in
encouraging some
seminars and courses in the Georgetown
University Law Center curriculum, or has assisted
Professors who have an interest in IEL subjects, to do so.
In addition, the Institute has, on some occasions, directly
assisted in some training programs (particularly for Developing
Country personnel and officials), as also can be seen at
the pages describing IIEL
Activities.
The purpose of this Part of the IIEL web site is
to provide some information about courses or other means
of studying IEL. Based on inquiries and on the experiences
of many of the IIEL personnel, both Faculty and students,
we have recognized the desire of persons in many parts of
the world, both industrial societies and emerging or transitional
societies, to learn about, or develop expertise in, IEL
subjects, such as the WTO. The segments listed below endeavor
to assist those persons to achieve those desires. In addition,
the viewer is reminded that the Researching
IEL page is also relevant to goals of this part.
Likewise, the Current
Issues page will often be useful to teachers planning
courses.
