Abridged GATT/WTO Panel & Appellate Body Reports

The following GATT and WTO Panel and Appellate Body Reports are used by Professor Jackson in his International Trade Course and WTO Dispute Settlement Seminar. These Reports have been abridged by Professor Jackson and his assistants, and they can be used to form the basis of supplemental materials for students. Since Panel and Appellate Body Reports are often extraordinarily lengthy, courses generally will need abridged text versions, so as to enable limited time and resources to be allocated more efficiently in the study of these materials.

The abridged cases posted on this page can be used freely for educational purposes. Since the abridged versions are provided in Word format as well, teachers are invited to edit the report further if they want a shorter version, or to add specific pragraphs from the full versions. If a report has been abridged, word counts for both the full-text and abridged versions are given in parentheses.
