Adding Shapes With Text to a Slide

  1. Insert a new slide into your presentation.
  2. Using the Task Pane, select the Title Only or Blank slide layout.
  3. Type the title in the Click To Add Title area.
  4. Click once in the blank portion of the slide.
  5. Click on the AutoShapes button in the Drawing Toolbar.

  6. Select the desired shape, and using your mouse, draw it on the slide.
  7. Right-click on the shape.
  8. A pop-up menu will appear.
  9. Choose the option Add Text.
  10. Start typing.
  11. The text will appear within the shape.
  12. You can change the background and color of the shape by using the icons in the Drawing Toolbar.

Note: If the Drawing Toolbar is not on your screen, click on the word View in the Menu Bar. Select the option Toolbars. A sub-menu will appear. Click on the Drawing option. The Drawing Toolbar will appear on the bottom of your screen.
