The Task Pane

When you first open any Office XP application, a new pane is displayed on the right side of the application window. This new pane is called the Task Pane. The Task Pane allows you to easily access various commands, such as opening a new or an existing workbook.

The Task Pane also allows you to view to contents of the clipboard, which is virtual storage space for all cut or copied items. When you place multiple objects on the Clipboard, the Clipboard Task Pane will appear. You can paste multiple items using the Clipboard Task Pane.

Note: The Task Pane option appears under the View menu. There will be a checkmark to its left when it is visible. To hide the Task Pane, simply click on its name to remove the checkmark.
