1. Open Microsoft Access XP.
2. Click on the word Tools in the menu bar.
3. Hold your cursor over the option Database Utilities.
4. Hold your cursor over the option Convert Database.
5. Choose the option To Access 2002 File Format.
6. The Database to Convert From dialog will appear.

   

7. Navigate to the database that you want to convert.
8. Select the database.
9. Click on the Convert button.
10. The Convert Database Into dialog will appear.

    

11. Navigate to where you want to save the newly converted database.
12. Rename the database if necessary.
13. Click on the Save button.
14. Microsoft Access XP will begin the conversion process.
15. A Microsoft Access warning dialog will appear.

    

16. Click on the OK button.
17. You will return to a blank Microsoft Access XP window.
18. Open your newly converted database.
