DELEGATING ACCESS

SET SHARING PERMISSIONS FOR A DELEGATE

  1. Open your Inbox.
  2. Click on the word Tools in the menu bar.
  3. Choose the option Options.
  4. The Options dialog will appear.
  5. Go to the Delegates tab.
  6. Click the Add button.
  7. The Add Users dialog will appear.
  8. Select the name of the person to whom you want to grant permission.
  9. Click on the the Add button to complete the selection.
  10. Click on the OK button.
  11. The Delegate Permissions dialog will appear.
  12. Using the dropdown arrow to the right of the desired folder, select an access level for that person.
  13. Click the Automatically send a message to… checkbox to notify the person of your election.
  14. Click on the OK button.
  15. You will return to the Options dialog.
  16. Click on the OK button.
  17. The access permissions that you just assigned to the person will go into effect immediately.
OPENING SOMEONE ELSE'S FOLDER
  1. Open your Inbox.
  2. Click on the word File in the menu bar.
  3. Hold your cursor over the option Open.
  4. From the subfolder that appears, choose the option Other User's Folder.
  5. The Open Other User's Folder dialog will appear.
  6. Click on the Name button to select the name of the person who has granted you access.
  7. Using the drop-down arrow to the right of the Folder Type field, select the appropriate folder.
  8. Click on the OK button.
  9. That person's folder will open.
CHANGE FOLDER PERMISSIONS
  1. Open your Inbox.
  2. Click on the word Tools in the menu bar.
  3. Choose the option Options.
  4. The Options dialog will appear.
  5. Go to the Delegates tab.
  6. Select the person whose access you want to modify.
  7. Click on the Permissions button.
  8. The Delegate Permissions dialog will appear
  9. Using the dropdown arrow to the right of the desired folder, select the new access level for that person.
  10. Click the Automatically send a message to… checkbox to notify the person of your election.
  11. Click on the OK button.
  12. You will return to the Options dialog.
  13. Click on the OK button.
  14. The access permissions that you just changed will go into effect immediately.
REMOVE FOLDER PERMISSIONS
  1. Open your Inbox.
  2. Click on the word Tools in the menu bar.
  3. Choose the option Options.
  4. The Options dialog will appear.
  5. Go to the Delegates tab.
  6. Select the person whose access you want to remove.
  7. Click on the Remove button.
  8. All of that person's access permissions will be removed immediately.
