ABOUT GIELR

Environmental issues do not recognize political boundaries, nor do they respect territorial integrity. Attempts to confront and resolve global and transboundary environmental problems have created the need for a legal forum to provide analyses of these issues. The Georgetown International Environmental Law Review (GIELR) was created to meet this need. Each publication contains timely information designed for the practitioner and scholar of international and environmental law.

Georgetown University is widely recognized as a leading institution in international law and policy. Members of GIELR's staff enjoy access to extensive resources and a comprehensive curriculum in these fields. GIELR's location in Washington, DC, also facilitates contact with the key domestic and foreign governmental institutions as well as international and environmental practitioners. The proximity of these resources has led to the development of a close working relationship between GIELR and members of the international and environmental communities.
