General Policies
Food and Drink
Georgetown Law Library patrons may eat snacks in both the Williams and Wolff Library locations in most areas. Aromatic, noisy, or greasy foods are not permitted. No food is allowed in the Williams Reading Room, the Special Collections Reading Room, the media rooms, or the computer labs. Beverages in closed containers are permitted in the library with one exception: the computer labs. For those wishing to consume larger meals, the canteen (Williams 1st floor) is open to all students with GOCard access.
Cell Phones
Incoming calls on cellular phones are prohibited in both libraries. In the Williams Library, outgoing calls may be made in the library’s atrium only (on any floor). At the Wolff Library, outgoing calls may be placed from the third-floor elevator landing outside the library entrance.
Lost and Found
The circulation desk is the temporary repository for personal items found in the Library. Items not claimed within 24 hours are sent to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), which can be reached at 202-662-9325.
Reshelving
Please don't reshelve any books since we collect statistics on use of library materials. Just leave them on the table. Library staff collect all materials not checked out to assigned carrels each morning.
Mutilation
The mutilation, defacement or unauthorized removal of Library books, equipment and other materials is prohibited.
Tobacco Products
Use of tobacco products is not permitted anywhere in the Library.
