Changing the Way We Unionize?

March 11, 2009 · Sara Sampson

Yesterday, Sen. Tom Harkin and Rep. George Miller introduced the Employee Free Choice Act in the Senate and House, respectively.   This legislation would drastically change how employees unionize.  You might have heard this refered to as "card check" legislation.
You can read the full-text of the House bill on THOMAS. Just search for “Employee Free Choice Act” and you’ll find H.R. 1409. The Senate Bill, S. 560, isn’t available yet.
Members of the Georgetown University community can access BNA’s analysis of the bill and its chances for passage along with the basic arguments for and against the bill via the Daily Labor Report

If you’d rather listen to such a summary, check out NPR’s story from today’s Morning Edition.
