The Courtroom View Network collection provides recordings of popular judicial opinions, as well as video examples of trial and appellate advocacy techniques with clips of practitioners employing them in the courtroom.

Welcoming Jill Smith to Georgetown

Jill Smith joins the Law Library as Georgetown's first Instructional Technology Librarian. She is a member of the Electronic Resources and Services group, reporting to Roger Skalbeck.Her duties will include consulting with faculty on how technology can assist in research, scholarship, and teaching.

Prior to arriving here, Jill was the Research and Instructional Technology Librarian at The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in Baltimore where she also taught Introduction to Legal Research and Advanced Legal Research.Prior to beginning her library career, Jill spent two years as a legal index editor at BNA and 12 years working in executive relationship management with the NASDAQ Stock Market and in corporate communications for NASDAQ-listed companies.

Jill is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and the University of Maryland's iSchool. She is a current member of the Reviews Committee for Library Quarterly.She is also an active member of the Law Librarians' Society of Washington, DC (LLSDC).In the 2011-12 editorial year, she was editor of the LLSDC quarterly publication Law Library Lights, which won the American Association of Law Libraries' "Best Newsletter" award in 2013 for issue 55.3. She is a member of the New Hampshire State Bar.
