News and Reports for December 2014
Are family and friends visiting you for the holidays? For residents of the DC region, entertaining out-of-town visitors can be both a privilege and a headache. Our city is studded with museums, monuments, and other cultural centers, which can make organizing and planning an outing overwhelming. Luckily, one of our largest cultural institutions has created mobile apps to assist you.
The Smithsonian has several mobile apps, including Smithsonian Mobile, an overall guide to the many sub-institutions. In addition, SI hosts a page stuffed with links to apps and mobile sites tailored to specific museums, collections, and installations (don’t forget: the National Zoo is also part of the Smithsonian). There is even an app that can offer you tours based on your specific interests and your available time.
