Rare Book Acquisition by Special Collections

New acquisition in Special Collections is a second edition copy of Giles Jacob's The Laws of Liberty and Property: Or, a Concise Treatise of All the Laws, Statutes and Ordinances, Made for the Benefit and Protection of the Subjects of England: And the Preservation of their Lives, Estates, Lands, and Tenements, Goods, Chattels, Rights, Privileges, &c. printed in 1734. Both the first and second editions of this title are rare. Georgetown Law Library is only one of 5 libraries in the United States to own a copy. Jacob's Laws of Liberty and Property, greatly influenced the founding fathers and American Constitutionalism. It is available to view in Special Collections in the Williams Library.
