Indigenous Law Portal: Mapping American Indian Constitutions and Legal Materials.

The first featured free web site in the Friends Newsletter’s new column is The Indigenous Law Portal.  It is a Law Library of Congress resource that provides links to statutes, constitutions, and other legal primary sources for approximately 340 Indian tribes in approximately 35 states.  Tribes may be sorted by state or region.  The project is on-going, and the page also links to General Sources for Indigenous Law, another helpful Law Library of Congress site.  For more information, see the write up about the Indigenous Law Portal in the Law Library of Congress blog, “In Custodia Legis.”
