Georgetown and Food and Drug Law Institute to Co-Publish Food and Drug Law Journal
February 26, 2015 —
Georgetown University Law Center, the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) have partnered to co-publish the Food and Drug Law Journal. The first issue to be jointly produced will be the February 2015 publication.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the Food and Drug Law Institute on this important publication,” said Georgetown Law Dean William M. Treanor. “This partnership will provide an outstanding opportunity for our students who are interested in food and drug law.”
Celebrating its 70th volume in 2015, the Food and Drug Law Journal is a source for scholarly articles that examine and discuss the progress of laws and regulations in the fields of food, drugs, biologics, cosmetics, dietary supplements, medical devices and tobacco products.
As part of the agreement, the Food and Drug Law Journal editorial advisory board will now engage with a group of Georgetown Law student representatives advised by Professor Joseph Page. The Law Center will also provide J.D. and LL.M. student editors and note writers. FDLI will continue to coordinate peer-revision of all submissions – a process that distinguishes the Journal from other student-edited legal publications.
“The Food and Drug Law Journal has served as the leading source of scholarly analysis for food and drug law lawyers, regulators, and academics for many years. The Journal will now be made even stronger with the co-publication with Georgetown University Law Center, one of the best law schools in the country,” said Amy Comstock Rick, president and CEO of FDLI. “We look forward to working with the law students and the outstanding Georgetown faculty as the new phase of this excellent publication moves forward.”
