Since 1983, Georgetown University Law Center’s Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program (WLPPFP) has enabled a diverse group of public interest lawyers from across the United States to gain invaluable experience advancing women’s rights. The Leadership and Advocacy for Women in Africa (LAWA) Fellowship Program was founded ten years later at Georgetown Law to train women's human rights lawyers from Africa who are committed to returning to their home countries to advance the status of women and girls.
