Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, author of A Mindful Nation: How a Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance, and Recapture the American Spirit, will be speaking at Georgetown Law on September 10th. Congressman Ryan’s book demonstrates his conviction that the principles and practice of mindfulness can help individuals quiet their stress and focus effectively and responsibly; the congressman believes that mindfulness can assist the United States in all our enterprises, person by person and organization by organization.
Since the book was published in 2012, Congressman Ryan has spoken and taught about mindfulness at a number of venues throughout the country. His commitment to mindfulness is mirrored at Georgetown Law by its ongoing commitment to the Lawyers in Balance program, which has trained hundreds of students, administrators, and faculty. The event is sponsored by Georgetown Law’s Lawyers in Balance, which is delighted that Congressman Ryan will be sharing his experience and knowledge of mindfulness.
