The participants will face off in teams representing local law firms, law schools and their alumnae.
As a result of the tournament’s success, weekly lady lawyer leagues have been formed in Washington, D.C., tournaments were held in San Francisco and Los Angeles and efforts are underway to establish leagues in other cities.
This event is sponsored by the Georgetown University Law Center women’s basketball club. Proceeds are donated each year to a different nonprofit organization working with underserved women and girls. The organization chosen for 2008 will be announced at the tournament.
