Inaugural Georgetown National Law Forum: A new speaker series at Georgetown Law on major legal and policy issues of the day

FORMAT:

The Attorney General's address: Intercepting Al Qaeda: A Lawful and Necessary Tool for Protecting America will be followed by a panel discussion with Georgetown Law Professor David Cole, Visiting Professor Martin Lederman, University of Virginia School of Law Professor Robert Turner and David Rivkin of Baker & Hostetler.  The Attorney General will be introduced by Georgetown Law Dean T. Alexander Aleinikoff.

The second Georgetown National Law Forum, The War on Terror: Civil Defense vs. Civil Liberties, will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium in McDonough Hall, 600 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington D.C. 20001.

The Forum will be moderated by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. Panelists will include: Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa) Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Cmte; Rep. Jane Harman (D-Ca.) Ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Cmte; Georgetown Law Professor Neal Katyal, lead attorney in the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld case; and investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.
