Brian Judkins (3L) and Dan McCall (3L)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown Law students excelled at the Fourth Annual American Bar Association’s Law Student Tax Challenge in San Diego on January 21, placing first and third place in the national competition.

Brian Judkins (3L) and Dan McCall (3L) claimed the top honor, and Atim Nsunwara (3L) and Soyun Park (3L) came in third. Additionally, Judkins and McCall won the ABA’s prize for “Best Written Submission.”

The ABA Law Student Tax Challenge is one of the nation’s largest tax competitions for law students and involves tax planning and client-counseling exercises designed to closely reflect everyday tax practice. The judges included some the top practitioners and tax experts in the country. The winners were chosen from 44 two-person teams.

Georgetown Law offers one of the most extensive curricula in taxation law taught in any law school. This broad selection can be attributed in part to the rich talent pool from which Georgetown draws adjunct tax faculty as well as its distinguished full-time faculty.
