WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown University Law Center’s student newspaper, Georgetown Law Weekly, has won the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division "Best Newspaper" award for a third consecutive year. The award was presented in August at the ABA annual convention in Atlanta. In making its "best newspaper" selection, the ABA looks at such attributes as quality of reporting, editing, originality, design and relevance to law students. Georgetown Law Weekly editor in chief Elizabeth Hancock attributes the paper's success to its dedicated staff. "When other students are poring over the works of our famous professors, our staffers are tracking down those sometimes-elusive scholars to get a quote or two, just so the campus can be enriched a bit more, and the dialogue can be a bit easier," she said. Georgetown Law Dean T. Alexander Aleinikoff adds his congratulations, "we salute the hardworking staff for this well-deserved honor." The Law Weekly, which is in its 38th year, is published on Tuesdays during the academic year and has a weekly readership of more than 1,500. The Editors-in-Chief for the winning years: 2003 - 2004 – Elizabeth Hancock 2002 - 2003 – Jonathan A. Massimino 2001 - 2002 – Lonnie D. Giamela/Courtney E.
