Academic projects involve working closely with faculty to produce scholarly works for publication. In some cases, this work will result in joint publication. Independent academic and/or policy projects are self-motivated with mentoring from O’Neill Institute affiliated faculty if desired. Allocation of time is determined in part by O’Neill Institute needs and in part by fellow preferences. Fellowships will be for 1 year with possible extension to two years and will start in September 2011. Salary will be $66,000 with outstanding benefits.
Candidates should have a J.D. degree (or the equivalent), exceptional academic credentials, including publications, and research interests in health law related areas such as public health law, global health law, domestic health care law, empirical studies, regulatory impacts of health law, and/or health and human rights. Successful candidates will have knowledge and/or experience in aspects of national or global health law and ethics. A post-graduate degree (MPH, LL.M.), health degree or significant work experience may be preferred. In exceptional cases, candidates without a J.D. may be considered.
