Katharina Ó Cathaoir, BCL LL.M., Ph.D., is a Law Fellow at the O’Neill Institute. She holds a Master of Laws in International Law from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor of Law (with Irish) from University College Cork. Katharina has previously worked as a judicial researcher (law clerk) at the Irish courts and as an advisor to Ireland’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (New York).
Prior to joining the O’Neill Institute, Katharina wrote her PhD in law at the University of Copenhagen, where she researched the extent to which states are under obligations to limit unhealthy food marketing to children following the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Katharina was part of an interdisciplinary research group – Governing Obesity – that sought to provide societal solutions to obesity.
