What is the Health and Human Rights Law Database?

The Health and Human Rights Law Database is a project jointly undertaken by the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University to develop a searchable database that reflects the dynamic interaction between health and human rights. In response to the growing need for a comprehensive accounting of the international, regional, and domestic landscape of health and human rights, this Database categorizes (1) case law, (2) international and regional instruments, and (3) national constitutions that enshrine health-related rights. The Database seeks to provide advocates, practitioners, and scholars with access to existing instruments and caselaw on health and human rights law that seek to realize the highest attainable standard of health.
