World Health Organization (WHO), International Development Law Organization (IDLO), and the O’Neill Institute call on Governments to Strengthen Public Health Laws. Twenty-two legal experts endorsed an initiative to build the capacity of governments to deal with infectious and non-communicable diseases that threaten global health, safety and economic viability. “Global AIDS Funding in an Era of Uncertainty”

Dr. Peter Mugyenyi, the founding director of Uganda’s HIV/AIDS Joint Clinical Research Center, and Ambassador Mark R. Dybul, the former U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, shared their perspectives on the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and their work to combat the global AIDS crisis. The event was sponsored by Georgetown’s Africa Interest Network (GAIN) and the advocacy group Physicians for Human Rights (PHR).
